
IODE DAWSON SCHOLARSHIP
The IODE Dawson Chapter offers at least one $500 scholarship every year. To be eligible, applicants must: be a resident of the Yukon; have completed at least three of six secondary school years in Dawson City (at Robert Service School or via home schooling); and be enrolled in full-time post-secondary studies (e.g., degree, diploma, or certificate at a college, trade school, or university). Students may still apply for the scholarship even if there is a gap between finishing secondary school and beginning post-secondary studies. The selection committee will consider the academic commitment, personal character, citizenship, leadership, and career goals of applicants.
Application Process
As an applicant for the IODE Dawson Chapter Scholarship, you should submit:
• a copy of your most recent transcript (secondary or post-secondary);
• a copy of your letter of acceptance from post-secondary institute;
• a short personal statement outlining your educational and career goals, school and/or community involvement, and how your plans will provide future benefits to the community and/or Yukon;
• a letter of recommendation from an educator or school administrator which speaks to your personal character, citizenship, leadership, work ethic, and commitment to educational goals.
Confirmation of Scholarship Award
Scholarship recipients will be advised of their award by November 2024.
Applicants who are unsuccessful in the 2024-25 scholarship program will also be notified.
Applications have CLOSED for this year
The next application intake will be September 2025.
